1. Introduction

issei.ai ("issei", "we", "us", or "our") is an AI-powered recruiting platform operated by Issei Technologies. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our platform at app.issei.ai.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and organization details. If you sign in with Google, we receive your Google profile information (name, email, profile picture).

2.2 Google API Data

With your explicit consent, we access the following Google services:

  • Google Calendar — We read your calendar availability to schedule interviews and create calendar events with video conference links.
  • Gmail (Send only) — We send emails on your behalf to candidates (e.g., scheduling confirmations, follow-ups). We do not read your inbox.

Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy.

2.3 Recruiting Data

We process job descriptions, candidate resumes, interview transcripts, and evaluation scorecards that you upload or generate through the platform.

2.4 Usage Data

We automatically collect usage analytics (page views, feature usage) through Vercel Analytics. This data is privacy-friendly and does not use cookies for tracking.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • Provide and operate the recruiting platform
  • Schedule interviews using your calendar availability
  • Send emails to candidates on your behalf
  • Generate AI-powered candidate evaluations and scorecards
  • Improve our platform and user experience
  • Communicate with you about your account and updates

4. AI Processing

We use AI models (Anthropic Claude) to analyze job descriptions, evaluate candidates, and generate interview scorecards. Your data is processed through secure API calls and is not used to train AI models. All AI-generated outputs (scorecards, briefs) include verbatim quotes from source material for transparency.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored in Supabase (PostgreSQL) hosted in the European Union (Frankfurt, Germany), ensuring GDPR compliance. Files (resumes, transcripts) are stored in AWS S3 in the eu-central-1 region. We use encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest for all stored data.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell your data. We share data only with:

  • Service providers — Supabase (database), AWS (storage and compute), Anthropic (AI processing), Twilio (messaging), Recall.ai (interview transcription)
  • At your direction — When you send emails or messages to candidates through the platform
  • Legal requirements — If required by law or to protect our rights

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal data
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Delete your account and associated data
  • Revoke Google API permissions at any time via your Google Account settings
  • Export your data
  • Object to data processing

8. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days. Anonymized analytics data may be retained for longer periods.

9. Cookies

We use essential cookies only for authentication (Supabase session tokens). We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or through the platform.
